I’m doing this because I know what it’s like to survive instead of live. I know what it’s like to be stuck in addiction and mental health battles where brushing your teeth feels impossible because you’re just trying to make it through the day alive. During those years, survival comes first and everything else—especially self-care—falls to the side. Teeth break. Smiles fade. Shame grows. When people finally get sober and start healing mentally, they’re expected to just “bounce back” into life. Get a job. Go to interviews. Rebuild relationships. Show up with confidence. But it’s hard to walk into a new life when you’re hiding your smile, ashamed to talk, afraid to laugh, and scared someone will judge the damage you couldn’t help while you were fighting for your life.

This fundraiser is about more than teeth. It’s about dignity. It’s about confidence. It’s about giving women and men in recovery the chance to look in the mirror and finally see someone worth loving, hiring, trusting, and believing in. A healthy smile can open doors to jobs, housing, relationships, and self-worth. It can be the difference between hiding and truly living.

I’m doing this for the ones who made it out. For the ones who are trying. For the ones choosing sobriety and mental health recovery even when it’s hard as hell. They’ve already fought the biggest battle of their lives—and they shouldn’t have to keep paying for the damage that battle caused forever.

This is about second chances. This is about healing what addiction and mental illness tried to destroy. This is about giving people their smile back… and with it, their confidence, their power, and their future.
