Opioid-Related Harms and Institutional Preparedness in Higher Education

As we gear up to for the Mobilize Recovery Campus Surge, this presentation addresses opioid related harms and how they present on college campuses. Further, the presentation offers findings from a scoping review and qualitative interviews that reveal limited institutional preparedness and wide variability in overdose prevention efforts in higher education. The presentation concludes with a call for improved implementation strategies and previews ongoing research supported by NIDA to advance overdose education and naloxone distribution.
