Tom Farley grew up in Madison, WI, and graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Marketing. He began his career in banking and finance before running The Chris Farley Foundation (1999–2012), a nationally recognized nonprofit focused on substance abuse prevention. Through humor-based programs, he helped young people build communication skills and create supportive environments.

In 2008, Tom co-authored The Chris Farley Show, a New York Times bestseller about his late brother, comedian Chris Farley. He has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and Larry King Live to discuss addiction and recovery.

Now in recovery himself, Tom is a passionate advocate for mental health and addiction treatment. He works at Recovery.com, connecting people with the resources they need to heal. As a speaker, he shares his journey to break stigma, inspire hope, and foster connection. Tom lives in Madison, WI.

Jan Rader joined the Huntington, West Virginia, Fire Department in August 1994. Rader is the first woman to reach the rank of chief for a career department in the State of West Virginia. She holds a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University and an Associate’s degree of science in nursing from Ohio University. She holds many fire service certifications and is also a fire and EMS instructor in the State of West Virginia.

Since November 2014, Rader has been serving as a member of the Mayor's Office of Drug Control Policy. The purpose of this task force is to address drug addiction in Huntington and the surrounding communities and create a holistic approach involving prevention, treatment, and law enforcement.

Rader recently came to national prominence after the release of the short documentary Heroin(e) by Netflix in September 2017 which was nominated for an Academy award. In April 2018, she was chosen as one of TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World." Jan is also the person delivering the emergency training video inside the ONEbox™ and serves on the Drug Intervention Institute’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Stephen Loyd is the Chief Medical Officer at Cedar Recovery. He is an Internal Medicine/Addiction Medicine physician, a graduate of the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Loyd also serves as the Vice-President of the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

‍In Governor Bill Haslam’s administration, Dr. Loyd held the role of Assistant Commissioner (Opioid Czar) for Substance Abuse Services in the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. He has acted as an expert witness in numerous federal and state cases involving improper prescription of controlled substances.

Recognized as an Advocate for Action by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Dr. Loyd’s dedication to educating others on addiction and treatment is evident through over five hundred lectures on opioid use disorder and proper prescribing of controlled substances. He has been a key contributor to the Treatment of Chronic Pain Guidelines Committee, shaping pain treatment practices in Tennessee.

‍Dr. Loyd’s expertise extends to addiction medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on treating opioid-dependent pregnant women. He actively participates in drug courts and collaborates with community-level anti-drug coalitions and state law enforcement, including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

‍As the inspiration behind Michael Keaton’s character in the Emmy Award-winning series “Dopesick” on Hulu, Dr. Loyd continues to make a significant impact in the field. Currently, he serves as Chief Medical Officer at Cedar Recovery in Tennessee and chairs the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council, appointed by Governor Bill Lee.

‍Dr. Loyd has been in recovery from opioid and benzodiazepine addiction since July 8, 2004. His personal connection to opioid addiction and recovery serves as a driving force, motivating him to continue making strides in this industry and creating positive change for the future.

Dr. Loyd was recently appointed by Gov. Jim Justice as the Director of the West Virginia Office for Drug Control Policy.
