What an impactful day in Washington D.C.! The Mobilize Recovery Campus Surge at Georgetown University was a massive success, bringing together students, experts, and policymakers to tackle the complex issues of addiction and mental health.
The event featured a powerful presentation on collegiate recovery research by Dr. Noel Vest, followed by a dynamic student panel discussion on campus-based solutions, hands-on overdose prevention training, and a fantastic performance by American Idol Winner Noah Thompson.
The day culminated in a key bipartisan Policy Roundtable where Reps. Madeleine Dean and Don Bacon shared personal stories, discussed advancing legislation, and engaged in open dialogue with students around issues important to them. They were joined by Jim Crotty of Meta, who detailed how the company is leveraging its platforms to combat harmful content and amplify positive recovery resources.
It was an inspiring day of action, advocacy, and collaboration across campus and Capitol Hill!
