This past weekend, Mobilize Recovery returned to its home base in Las Vegas for two incredible events that embodied the heart of our mission: Campus Surge 2025 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and Narcan at Night. Together, these events highlighted the strength of the recovery movement, the urgency of harm reduction, and the power of community to create lasting change.
Campus Surge 2025 at UNLV
On Friday, September 26, the UNLV Student Union was alive with energy, hope, and purpose. Campus Surge 2025 brought students, advocates, and community leaders together to raise awareness, address mental health challenges, and empower the next generation of recovery advocates.
Highlights included:
- A moving performance from American Idol winner Noah Thompson.
- Empowerment trainings and advocacy workshops that equipped students with tools to lead change.
- Learning about the exciting development of the UNLV Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP).
- Stories of hope and resilience from students and young adults in recovery.
- Distribution of life-saving resources like Narcan and fentanyl test strips.
- Honoring local organizations making a lasting difference in the Las Vegas recovery community.
The event was more than a rally—it was a spark for sustained change on campus and beyond. By centering students and their voices, Campus Surge 2025 continues to ensure recovery is visible, celebrated, and supported in higher education.
Narcan at Night: Life-Saving on the Strip
On Saturday, September 27, volunteers hit the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown to take part in one of the largest Narcan distribution events in the country: Narcan at Night.
As part of Mobilize Recovery’s Day of Service, volunteers came together to put compassion into action across Las Vegas. Armed with free overdose prevention kits, they walked with purpose—sharing education, compassion, and tools that can save lives. Whether a seasoned harm reduction advocate or a first-time volunteer, every participant played a critical role in making our community safer.
Narcan at Night was made possible thanks to incredible partners, including the Shine a Light Foundation and the Foundation for Recovery. Together, we showed that doing good can feel good. The energy was inspiring, the connections unforgettable, and the impact profound.
A Weekend of Impact
Together, these two events showcased what makes Mobilize Recovery so special: bringing people together to turn compassion into action. From empowering students at UNLV to saving lives on the Strip, Las Vegas showed the nation what the recovery movement looks like at its best.
We are grateful to every student, volunteer, partner, and supporter who made this weekend possible. The recovery movement is alive and thriving—and it’s only getting stronger.
