At The Ohio State University, Mobilize Recovery brought the Campus Surge 2025 initiative to life with a Scarlet and Gray Sober Tailgate that combined school spirit with recovery support.

The event offered everything you’d expect on game day—food, games, and upbeat music—but in a fully alcohol-free environment, proving that connection and celebration don’t need substances to thrive. Students, families, and fans gathered in Richard C. Larkins Plaza to show their Buckeye pride while honoring Recovery Month.

A highlight of the tailgate was a live performance by 2022 American Idol winner Noah Thompson, which added excitement to the game-day atmosphere.

In addition to the celebration, organizers distributed overdose reversal agents and fentanyl test strips, equipping attendees with resources to help save lives.

Campus Surge at Ohio State highlighted the power of student advocacy, showing that recovery can stand proudly alongside school traditions and game-day spirit.
