September is National Recovery Month—a time to celebrate recovery, honor lives lost, and raise awareness about the importance of treatment and support. It’s also the official launch of Mobilize Recovery's Day of Service, a nationwide effort where people in recovery, families, and allies come together to strengthen communities, fight stigma, and inspire hope.
This year, there are more than 400 Day of Service events happening from coast to coast. From September through October, thousands of people across the country will take part in volunteer projects and service events—each one rooted in the belief that recovery is possible and powerful.
These events look different in every community: some are hosting food and clothing drives, others are creating memorials for loved ones lost, and many are offering trainings in naloxone and harm reduction. What unites them is a shared purpose: giving back and showing that recovery is a force for good.
The Day of Service is about more than just one day—it’s about building lasting connections and creating a visible culture of recovery in every corner of the country. Together, our actions demonstrate the strength, resilience, and compassion of our movement.
